Blema Vibes hit James Town for a fourth year in a row

This year’s edition of the Tuumatu Festival will be held on the 16th and 17th of Deceember at various locations in James Town. The Festival aims at bringing people across different generations together to reconnect with history and culture through the learning and playing of childhood games. It is also targeted at showcasing artistic talents of folks in the James Town community as they collaborate on a wide array of creative projects with other Ghanaian and international acts.

 

This year's Festival will include music groups Ayekoo Drummers, Weku Kronkron Band, Indigenous Afrik and Soul Winners. Two contemporary dancers from the School of Performing Arts, University of Ghana, Sena Atsugah and Julius Yaw Quansah will delight fans with a newly-choreographed piece while Bachir Tassembebo (Belgium) and Jean Robert Koudogbo Kiki (Burkina Faso) will also showcase a contemporary dance piece titled “Acceptez Le”. The National Dance Company, Puff Dance Crew and others will also entertain dance lovers with a series of traditional, contemporary and street dances.Australia-based acrobat, Emmanuel Laryea alongside Murphy Yoga Atadam (Nigeria), will perform acrobatic drills while the Abrokwa Bicycle Crew is also expected to cheer up the audience with their special skills.
